Sonali Life Pays Insurance Claims Worth Tk 2.60 Billion This Year

Listed on the stock exchange, Sonali Life Insurance Company Limited has paid insurance claims amounting to Tk 2.60 billion (260 crore taka) so far this year. The company’s Acting Managing Director Rafiqul Islam shared this information.

He was speaking at an event held on Thursday (25 September) at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka, marking the 12th anniversary of Sonali Life Insurance. The company’s Vice Chairperson Fauzia Kamrul Tania and other directors were present at the event.

Acting MD Rafiqul Islam stated,

> “We have another Tk 3.20 billion in claims to be settled this year. InshaAllah, we will do it. We have the capacity.”

He added, “Due to certain negative rumors, people in Bangladesh often lack interest in the insurance sector. But Sonali Life is an exception. We are not a conventional insurance company. We’ve built our credibility by settling 100% of investors’ claims.”

He further said, “There will be no place in Bangladesh where you won’t find a policyholder of Sonali Life. We have already reached the remotest corners of the country. But we are not satisfied with that — we want to bring our services to every household.”

He continued, “We accelerate people’s savings. We take on their risks. When someone grows old and is neglected, we are the ones who stand by them. We work for the welfare of the people — and we want to do even more in the future.”

At the event, Vice Chairperson Fauzia Kamrul Tania emphasized that Sonali Life’s vision extends beyond achieving premium growth worth billions. “Our foremost priority is ensuring customer protection. We aspire to become a beloved institution of the nation, one that earns the trust and confidence of the people,” she stated.

She further added, “Just as depositors place their unwavering trust in the banking sector, we want policyholders to hold the same confidence in the insurance sector. Earning and upholding that trust is at the core of our mission. This is not only our goal but also the cherished dream of my father, the company’s founding chairman, the late Mostafa Golam Kuddus. We are dedicated to fulfilling his vision.”

Company Director Sheikh Mohammad Daniel echoed the sentiment, recalling his father’s dream; “Our founding chairman envisioned that insurance claims would be settled within just seven days. We are steadily advancing towards this milestone. Sonali Life is already recognized as a company that ensures 100% claim settlement. However, we remain unsatisfied until we achieve complete success in fulfilling the seven-day settlement target. Insha’Allah, we will make this vision a reality very soon.”
