Southeast Bank Launches Eight New Agent Banking Outlets

Continuing its commitment to financial inclusion, Southeast Bank PLC has formally inaugurated eight new agent banking outlets across Chapai Nawabganj, Gazipur, Manikganj, Barishal, Rajbari, and Tangail districts. The initiative aims to bring unbanked and underserved populations—including marginal farmers and small entrepreneurs—under the umbrella of modern banking services.

The inauguration ceremony was held virtually, where Mr. Abidur Rahman Chowdhury, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Southeast Bank PLC, officially launched all eight outlets simultaneously. Senior executives, branch managers, and the respective agent proprietors also joined the event online.Under the banner “Swagotom” Agent Banking, Southeast Bank will offer a wide range of technology-driven conventional and Islamic (‘Tijarah’) banking services. Customers will now be able to open savings and current accounts, deposit and withdraw cash, transfer funds via BEFTN and RTGS, receive foreign remittances, and access debit and credit card processing, cheque books, and BO account facilities for share trading.

Moreover, the outlets will facilitate micro, SME, and agricultural loans with life insurance coverage, payment of utility bills, government allowances, and loan installments, along with internet banking services.

Each agent banking outlet is equipped with recycler ATMs, allowing customers to enjoy essential banking services 24 hours a day in a secure, technology-enhanced environment.
