The Chairman and CEO of Eastern Insurance PLC. met Mir Nadia Nivin, Hon’ble Chairman of the Insurance Development & Regulatory Authority (IDRA), on 20 August 2026 for an exchange of views on the future direction of Bangladesh’s insurance industry.
The discussion covered key priorities for the sector, including stronger governance, greater public confidence, improved service standards and a more sustainable operating environment for insurance companies and policyholders.
Both sides also exchanged views on the importance of constructive engagement between the regulator and industry participants in addressing existing challenges and supporting the sector’s long term development.
